An Open Letter for the Senators and Representatives
By Edward Era

Some of you are LAWYERS, I know that you know the DOCTRINE OF SEPARATION OF POWERS...

According to the 1987 Phil. Constitution (Constitution, Art. III, Sec. 1). “A Republican form of government rests on the conviction that sovereignty should reside in the people and that all government authority must emanate from them. It abhors the concentration of power on one or a few, cognizant that power, when absolute, can lead to abuse, but it also shuns a direct and unbridled rule by the people, a veritable kindling to the passionate fires of anarchy. Our people have accepted this notion and decided to delegate the basic state authority to principally three branches of government — the Executive, the Legislative, and the Judiciary – each branch being supreme in its own sphere but with constitutional limits and a firm tripod of checks and balances .”

REMEMBER: The purpose of the doctrine is the prevention of monopoly of power…. forestalls dictatorship or despotism... Each branch is separated from and independent of each other, each is prevented from invading the domain of others. so please! Stay away of the each other... Under the principle of co-equal and coordinate powers among the three (3) branches, the officers entrusted with each of these powers are not permitted to encroach upon the powers confided to the others.

The three co-equal departments are established by the constitution in as balanced positions as possible. To maintain this balance or to restore it if upset, each department is given certain powers with which to check the others.

Your primary function is the creation, enactment and amendments of law. Now, the question is: What is more beneficial today, to vote for representative/senators or to allow the people to do the process of legislation? Also, I think you must focused in enforcing the law rather than working on the people who you think is a hindrance to the executive.
